He was predeceased by: his mother Anne Somers, Sr. (Anderson); his wife JoanMarie (Flowers); his father Matthew Sr.; and his stepmother Doris. He is survived by: his children, Michael (Flora) and Katie; his grandchildren, Ela (Somers), Sarah (Somers), Aidan (Barrow-Somers), Brendan (Barrow-Somers) and Connor (Barrow-Somers); and his brother James (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
