He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy J. Geyer; his children, Dewey T. Oakes (Stephanie) of Jersey Shore and Jade J. Oakes-Hatt (Michael) of Jersey Shore; his grandchildren, Kyla Oakes, Kennedy Snook and Timothy "Charlie" Snook; and his sisters, Patricia Hendricks (Rodger) of Mechanicsburg and Linda Cevette of Painted Post, N. Y..
