With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph T. Whalen Jr. of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 11, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph T. Sr. Whalen and Marie E. Lynagh Whalen; and his close friend Mac. He is survived by: his sisters, Maryann Dunn (Ed) and Kathy Quarles (Richard); his nieces and nephews, Kelly Quarles, Tara Dunn Herschman (Joe), Christopher Quarles (Marissa), Michael Dunn and Caitlin Quarles McGrellis (Barry); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler, Trysten, Aliyah, Teygan, Gaibrial, Michael of Oliver, CJ, Ryan and Theo; and also, Sawyer, Reverend Monsignor William F. Glosser, Saint Clare of Assisi Parish, Saint Clair, New Philadelphia, Reverend Philip F. Rodgers, Saint Patrick Parish, Monsignor Thomas D. Baddick, Notre Dame of Bethlehem, Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik, Saint Ambrose Parish, Reverend Robert T. Finlan and Saint John. He is also survived by his friends, parishioners, neighbors.
