He was predeceased by: his father Stephen Sakmar; his brother Thomas; his children, Jill, Kristie and Aaron; his son-in-law Brad Slutsky; his brother-in-law Paul Turnley; and his pet Labby.
He is survived by: his mother Agnes Sakmar (Topscher) of Johnstown; his children, Lisa Slutsky (late Brad) of Bethany, OK, Kelie Steele (Matt) of Yukon, OK and Benjamin (Melody); his siblings, Phil Sakmar (Elizabeth), Nancy Turnley (late Paul), Donna Wallace (Foster) and Jane Spisak (Jim); and his grandchildren, Isabelle "Izzy" Steele, Austin Steele and Ashly Sakmar. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave's memory to Windber Hospice, West Hills Community Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Humane Society of Cambria County.
