He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester McClelland and Alma McClelland (Vorhauer); his wife Eva Leona "Nonie" (Rhodes); and his siblings, Olive Marie, Shirley Vivian, Robert and Grant.

He is survived by: his children, Melvin (Mary), Wayne (Cathy), Janis Yingling (Bob Nies, Sr), Kathy Churchey (Walt) and Brian (Betty Lou); and his close friend Mary Ann Lapina. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren.
