It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of May Petimezas (Johnstown, Pennsylvania), born in Niagara Falls, New York, who passed away on January 2, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband George B. Petimezas; her parents, Sophia Perdikas and Demetrius Perdikas; and her siblings, Mary Perdikas, Ester Citharel, George Perdikas and Jimmy Perdikas.

She is survived by: her godparents, Magdaline and Cris Liberis; her cousins, Tisha, Fotina Angelo and Jimmie; her sons, Basil Petimezas (Jamie) and Dennis Petimezas (Dee Dee); her grandchildren, Evan and Lindsey of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; her goddaughter Angela Maria Angelo of Jackson, Mississippi; her godmother Lambryne Angelo of Jackson, Mississippi; and her pet Koukla. She is also survived by extended family that included numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, contributions may be made to "May Petimezas-Suzie Garvey Clinic," C/O InFirst Bank, 1420 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904, which is being established in her memory in war-torn Sudan through ShadowsofHope.org .
