He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul F. Piatek and Sophie Piatek (McKuskie); and his brother Donald Piatek. He is survived by : his wife Nancy (Kelly); his children, Kelly Hedman, Joseph Piatek, Susan Smith (James) and Shawn Piatek (Theresa); his grandchildren, Paul E. Piatek, Cassandra Smith, Jolynda Dibert (Tyler), Zach Smith, Jared Piatek, Nick Piatek, Reese Koback and Cameron Koback; his great grandchildren, Jason, Elijah, Daniel, Nova and Mea; and his siblings, John (Eva) and Betty Bingham.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in his memory be made to Laurel Highlands Free and Charitable Medical Clinic or St. Benedict's Catholic Church.
