He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Heinlein (Schellhammer); his son Vincent; his siblings, Michael, Peter and Judith; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Doverspike, Doris Van Dervort and Lois Peterson.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Cook (Jeff), Timothy (Amy), Ronna Long (Doug) and Kathleen Dudash (Erik); and his brother-in-law Fred Egner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
