She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Markferding and Agnes Markferding (Rosage); her husband Stephen; her son John; her son-in-law Richard Cartwright; and her sisters, Mary Grace Griffith, Ruth Heffley and Dorothy Murphy.
She is survived by: her brother Bob Markferding; her nieces, Mary Beth Cartwright of Johnstown, Carol Battaglia (Tony) of Johnstown, Joyce Nesmith (Norm) of Johnstown, Barb Flick (Ron) of Johnstown, Suzanne Updyke (Jerry) of Johnstown and Shirley Confer; her nephew Stephen Mosorjak (Carrie) of Johnstown; and her grandchildren, Ben, Anthony, Alison, Emily, Chris, Olivia, Angela, Maria, Melinda, Stephen, Jeremy, Katie, Tyler and Jon. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Sisters of St. Basil the Great, 500 W. Main St., PO Box 878, Uniontown, PA 15401-2602, in memory of Sarah.
