He is survived by: his parent Grace Whitmore Hartman; his wife Betty Richards Hartman; his sons, Brian Thornton and Anson Thornton; his grandchildren, Taylor, Anson, Marissa and Aaron Thornton; and his nieces and nephews, Alisha Enterline, Linda Somoles and Ed Somoles. He is also survived by his mother and they thought of him as a father; and numerous nieces and nephews.
