He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion L. Hastings and Elizabeth Ellis Hastings; and his sister Eleanor Hastings Cann of Newport News, VA.. He is survived by: his wife Joyce H. Hastings; his daughters, Valerie Hastings-Candeloro and Carolyn Hastings Hermes; and his grandsons, Chase Hastings Candeloro and Andrew David Hermes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
