He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Joseph Zitt and Julia Zitt (Radacosky); his wife Dolores R. Zitt (Smith); and his siblings, John, Andrew Zitt, Catherine Barron, Ann Kelly, Helen Maurer, Julia Gulas, Margaret Stemmler and Mary Mickinak.
He is survived by: his children, Michael J. Zitt Jr. (Jacqueline) of Latrobe, Verena M. DeMary (Anthony) of Derry and Tristine A. Sanderbeck (Daniel) of Harrisburg; his grandchildren, Ryan A. DeMary (Sara), Tessa M. DeMary, Ashley M. Sanderbeck, Lindsey A. Sanderbeck (Gary Hoffman), Matthew M. Zitt and Courtney L. Zitt (Ryan Gritzer); his great grandchildren, Lia, Brooks DeMary, Cole Miller and Cooper Hoffman; and his brother-in-law Wilbur Stemmler of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church, 125 S. Ligonier Street, Derry, PA 15627 or to the American Legion Post No. 515, 1811 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA 15650.
