He is survived by: his parents, John Adam and Ruth Ann Schlegel (Carpenter); his daughter Sage Michal Schlegel; his significant other Diana Marzari; his brother John R. Schlegel (Carly); his niece Guinevere; his nephew Lincoln; and his grandmother Joan Carpenter (Dundore). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
