He was predeceased by : his parents, John F. Smetana and Jennie Smetana (Mitchell). He is survived by : his wife Kathleen M. (Spangler); his daughter Stephanie Hodgson (Jeremiah Hodgson); his grandchild Jesse; his son Michael Smetana (Tiana Smetana); his grandchildren, Micah and Clara; his siblings, Sharon and Phil (Jen); and his siblings-in-law, Dawson Spangler, David Spangler, Beverly Johnson and Judy Troxell (Gary). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you continue his legacy by doing an act of kindness every day.
