She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Richard Nelson and Mary Elizabeth "Bobbie" Nelson (Schuster); and her former husband Joseph Marzari. She is survived by: her husband David Stephan Unger; her stepdaughters, Dori Marzari Barrett of California and Melissa Marzari Wildermuth of Lynchburg, Virginia; and her siblings, Richard "Rick" Dennis Nelson (Lillian Nelson) of Charlotte and Barbara Nelson Childress (Phillip Childress) of Winston Salem.
