Eric D. Thompson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eric D. Thompson of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Leslie Thompson and Evelyn Throop Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Gail Thompson; his daughter Aileen Thompson; his son-in-law Brian Erard of Reston, Virginia; his son E. Douglas Thompson; his daughter-in-law Ravy Lu of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania; his son Ronald Thompson of Hong Kong; and his grandchildren, Grace Erard, Gavin Erard, Megan Thompson and Mathew Thompson.
Eric served as a First Lieutenant in the Air Force Office of Scientific Research in Washington, D.C. From there, he had a National Science Foundation Doctoral Fellowship at the Harwell Atomic Energy Commission in Didcot, England.
