He was predeceased by: his parents, George Filer and Georgia Filer (English); his sister Brenda Jones (Filer); and his brother-in-law Jimmy Jones. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Filer (James); his children, Kirsten Lawrence (Paul), Damian Filer and Brandon Filer (Amy); and his grandchildren, Julia, Audrey, William, Ella, Avery and Shane.
