He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Benson and Alma Benson (Gilbert); and his sister Janet Benson Carpenter of Huntsville, AL.. He is survived by: his spouse Jean Ann Benson (Girardot); his children, Darin Benson, Timothy (Lori) and Dana (Timothy Krimmel); and his grandchildren, Katie, Valerie Benson, Hunter and Cole Krimmel.
