He was predeceased by: his spouse Dorothy Alexander Wheeler; and his child Gary S. Wheeler. He is survived by: his son David Wheeler (Joyce); his grandchildren, David Daniel (Jennifer), Amanda (Adam), Ryan (Bobbi) and Michael; his siblings, Robert Wheeler and Gilbert Jost; and his significant other Carol Gelhaus.

In lieu of flowers donations in Bud's memory may be made to the National Wildlife Federation.
