He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Beaver Kearns and Pauline Kearns (Landis); his brother Ralph; his niece Christine; his nephew Nelson; and his granddaughter Rachel.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Kearns (Smith); his son Alan Kearns (Izabella); his grandchildren, Alexander, Julia, Steven and Paul; his sons, Barry Kearns (DJ) and Dan Kearns (Chris); his grandchildren, Michael and Leslie; his children, Diana, Owen, Benjamin and Loren Kearns (Michelle); his grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth and Aaron; his daughter Lisa Curcio (Vincent); his grandchildren, Daina, Daniel, Sam and Noah; his sister-in-law Lola Kearns; and also Brian Kearns.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carl's name to the Little Valley Presbyterian Church, 1392 Vira Road, Lewistown, Pa., 17044.
