He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Hackenberger and Julia Hackenberger (Eichman); and his siblings, William Hackenberger, Jayne Austin and Robert Hackenberger.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Hackenberger (Haines); his children, Michele Meiser (Doug) of Centre, Dane Hackenberger (Susan) of Mifflintown and Joli Strawser (Todd) of Port Matilda; his grandchildren, Malia Asthappan (Jibey), Kiersta Meiser, Kahla Williamson (Dakota), Jenna Hackenberger, Mason Strawser and Mitchell Strawser; and his great grandchildren, Kaiya, Carter, Kayli Asthappan and Asher Williamson.
