He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Hackenberg and Agnus Hackenberg (Haines); his brothers, Paul and James Hackenberg; and his daughter Laura Labe.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Hackenberg, Jr. (Margaret) of Alaska, Brenda Hackenberg of Harrisburg, Caroline Hackenberg of Lewistown, Joseph Hackenberg of Lewistown and Barbara Slingland (Paul, Jr.) of McAlisterville; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, Aaron Labe, John Rebuck, Hunter Hackenberg and Hayden Slingland. He is also survived by 3 Great-Grandchildren.
