He was predeceased by: his mother Kathleen A Bernhard (Popson). He is survived by: his wife Diane Bernhard (Nguyen); his father Jeffrey R. Bernhard (Jessica Treichler); his son Steven, Jr.; and his siblings, Betsy Bockoras, April DeLong and Michael Bernhard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
