He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell J. Shope and Minnie Shope (Mumper); his son Russell Dean Shope; and his siblings, Larue Boyles, Dorothy Hoover, Elizabeth Marley, Gene E. Shope and Ralph B. Shope.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia O. (Waller).
