He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Groff and Francis Groff (Myer); his wife Edith Groff (Gehman); his son Samuel Groff; his grandson Gerald Groff; and his siblings, Miriam Longenecker Shertzer, Melvin Groff and Willis Groff, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Galen (Phyllis) of Lewisburg, Kenneth (Kathy) of Mifflinburg, David (Mary) of Lewisburg, Wesley (Wanda) of Beavertown and Sarah Yoder (Daryl) of Mattawana; his daughter-in-law Beverly Groff (Samuel) of Allenwood; his stepdaughters, Susan Heimbach (David) and Brenda Weaver (John); and his sister Naomi Sauer (Kermit) of Quarryville. He is also survived by 9 step grandchildren; 20 step great grandchildren; 3 step great-great grandchildren.
