He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Elizabeth Zelazny; his children, Carolyn Weaver (Richard), Robert (Michele), Thomas (Julie), Donald (Anette) and Amy Durkin (Martin); his grandchildren, Matthew, Sara, Andy, Jessica Weaver, Steve (Amanda), Ryan Jakiel, Samantha, Lara Jakiel, Caleb (Victoria), Carli (Christian Ryan), Courtney, Colin Jakiel, Thomas and Emily Durkin; and his great grandchild Asher Kiro Ryan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org to support research toward ending Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
