He was predeceased by: his parents, Maude E. Hughes and Rupert T. Hughes; his wife Florence; his sons, James Arden Hughes and John T. Hughes; his great grandchild Carrie Ann Hughes; and his siblings, Richard Hughes (Helen) and Jean P. Brenoel (Paul).
He is survived by: his children, Joan M. Opelt (Ric) of Cochranton, PA and Gary W. Hughes (Robin) of Delaware, OH; his daughter-in-law Karen Hughes of Meadville, PA; his sister Lynda Hoyt (Gary) of Long Beach, CA; his grandchildren, Marc Hughes (Linda), Eric Hughes, Sarah Shick (Matthew), Jennifer Miller (William), Erin Hughes PhD, Christopher Roberts (Loni) and Katy Gonzalez (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Chad Hughes, Chloe Hughes, Jayden Lewis, Serenity Gonzalez, Katherine Miller, Henry Shick and Connor Hughes.
