He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Erie and Caterina Erie (Marcello); his wife Joyce Cypher; his son Dennis Erie; and his brother Andrew Erie.
He is survived by: his sons, John C. Erie, Jr. (Carol) of Meadville, Anthony "Tony" Erie of Meadville and Mark Erie (Heather) of Meadville; his grandchildren, Thomas, Catrina, Robert, Matthew, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Zoe, Emma and Lydia; and his great grandchildren, Taylor, Liam, Aden, Stetson, Wyatt, Ada and Shailae. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
