He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kenneth Allen and Anna Jean Allen (Elliott); and his brother Douglas Allen. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Allen (Whitesel); his children, Johnathan Allen (Lina) of Camp Hill, David Allen (Alison) of Clarkston, MI, Rachel Allen (Rick) and Sarah Allen of Camp Hill; his stepchildren, Benjamin Mengle (Lindsey) of Mechanicsburg, Forrest Mengle (Lexie) of Camp Hill and Cera Knaby (Matt) of Boalsburg; his siblings, John "Pete" Allen of Middletown, NJ, Judith Menendez of Galloway, NJ and Ann Michele Kret of Hazlet, NJ; and his mother-in-law Ann Whitesel of Carlisle. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
