He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Melnick (Sherman) and Michael Melnick; and his brother Marshall Melnick. He is survived by: his wife Vickie Melnick; his children, Joe Melnick and Kristi Melnick (James Haley); his stepchildren, Travis Marzka (Taylor Marzka) and Amanda Marzka; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dakota, Evan, Adelle, Caidyn, Brayden, Bentlee and Lylliann; and his siblings, Michele Smiley, Bonnie Slayton, Jeff (Janice), Jerol (Althea), Blaine (Linda) and Mary Sceiford (Steven). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Van Matre Funeral Home (105 Walnut St, Waterford, PA 16441). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM.
