She was predeceased by: her parents, Pedro Nieves and Basilisa Nieves; her son Pedro Monserrate; and her brother Pedro S. Nieves. She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Monserrate of Puerto Rico, Kathy Irizarry of Hummelstown and Felix Fernandez of Lancaster; her grandchildren, Ibis Chupany, Adeliz Rodriguez, Brenda Monserrate, Michael Irizarry, Abrianna Irizarry and Jamil Fernandez; and her siblings, Jose Nieves, Gladys Monserrate, Aida M. Colon, Wilfredo Nieves, Monserrate Nieves and Marta Barrera.
