He is survived by: his parent Grace "McClenahan" Confer; his daughters, Mary Kerstetter (Cloyd) of Aaronsburg and Janie Irvin of Bellefonte; his son-in-law Rodney J. Wolfe of Spring Mills; his sisters, Marty Lightner of Bellefonte, Linda Neil of Lamar and Shirley Krout of Baltimore; and his grandchildren, Kevin Kerstetter (Claudia), Brian Kerstetter (Amy), Richard M. Wolfe (Heather), Rodney C. Wolfe (Nicole), Kelly Jo Rhoades (Richard), Donald J. Irvin, Jr. (Val) and Stephanie Rossman (John).
