He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis Bienemann and Jane Bienemann; his son James Jr.; and his siblings, Sharon and Gary.

He is survived by : his wife Judith A Bienemann (Hartge); his son Jeffrey; his daughters-in-law, Angela and Joanie; his sister Jill; and his grandchildren, Jared and Jillian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
