It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John A. McShaffery Jr. of Moscow, Pennsylvania, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John A., Sr. and Etta McShaffery (Doherty); and his siblings, Maryclaire Jordan and Jerry McShaffery. He is survived by: his wife Marijoan McShaffery (Purcell); his children, Katie McShaffery of Moscow, John McShaffery (Colleen) of Moscow and Daniel McShaffery of Moscow; his grandson JJ McShaffery of Moscow; his sisters, Kathleen Hoffman (Dale), Noreen Blewitt (Jack) and Anne Harvey (John); his siblings-in-law, Michael Purcell (Diana), Carl Purcell, Arthur Jordan and Dawn Purcell; and his nephews, John and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to North Pocono Minisink Lions Club, P.O. Box 1092, Moscow, Pa 18444.
