He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry W. Sr. Thomas and Elda J. Brendlinger Thomas; his son David Michael; and his siblings, Harry W. Thomas Jr., Donna Mae Lacock and Elda C. Kebbel.

He is survived by: his wife Clara M. Koper Thomas; and his son James E. Thomas "JT" of Murrysville. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and friends.
