Lois B. Groomes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lois B. Groomes of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, born in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 22, 2020 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas I. George and Mary Elizabeth George of Lower Burrell; her former husband Cecil Berl; her sister Nellie Emily James (George) of Colorado Springs; and her husband John M. Walker Jr. of Oakmont.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jamie Walker Burns (John) of Jeannette and Susan Walker Swift (Jon) of Greensboro; and her stepchildren, Cynthia Benedick of Manassas, Dr. Roderick Groomes of Sarver and Andralee Sorrels of Latrobe. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, there was no funeral service, but instead the immediate family celebrated Lois' life with a private "virtual" memorial service last month.
