He was predeceased by: his parents, Lt. William Loveland Rogers and Elizabeth Sorley Rogers; his brother Kennon Rogers; and his stepfather Fredrick B. Lyon. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn James Rogers; his children, Elizabeth C. Rogers, William T. Rogers (Julie) and Julie H. Barrow; and his stepsons, Wallace J. Wright (Amy) and Steven H. Wright (Debbie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
