He was predeceased by : his former wife Betty Jean Ostertag (Craig); his parents, Frank Ostertag and Rose Ostertag (Fulcher); his daughter Janet Ostertag; and his brother Frank Ostertag.

He is survived by : his present wife Helen L. Ostertag (Touw) of 46 years, his children, Deborah (Brian Johnson) of Rochester, NY, Kathleen (Mark Tanis) of Edinburg, VA, Harold (Debbie Brown) of Frederick, MD, Carl Craig (Celia Ostertag) of Wantage, NJ and Thomas (Vonnie Brown) of Quarryville, PA; his sister Rose Ulrich of Medford, Oregon; and his sister-in-law Eloise Ostertag of Blue Hill, Maine. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
