He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Joseph Thornburg and Helen Elizabeth Thornburg (Williams); his wife Helen Nettie Thornburg (Frost); and his son John Williams Thornburg. He is survived by : his brother Robert Thornburg (Cindy) of Raleigh, NC; his daughters, Julie Vaughn (Tony) and Laura Richards (Kevin); his grandchildren, Christina Phebus (Nick), Elizabeth Vaughn, Christian, Isabella and Gabby Richards; and his great grandchild Asher.
