It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James B. Welker Jr. (New Castle, Pennsylvania), who passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Barnie" Welker and Helen Asire Welker; his siblings, Martha Cobb and Ben; and his son David.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Karki; and his grandchildren, Jennifer (Tommy), Matthew, Tanner Welker (Breanna), Renee Hassell (Greg), Hannah Allton (Austin), Lea Kaufman (Derick), Erik (Leah), Alex (Deanna), Daniel Welker, Emma and Lena Welker. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (2429 Wilmington Rd, New Castle, PA 16105). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that all contributions be made in Jim's name to the New Life Baptist Church, 3414 State Route 208, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
