He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Kern and Ethel Kern (Speece); his wife Sally Kern (Pearson); his grandson Adam Shickley; his siblings, James Kern and Carolyn Shuff; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Kern and Kenneth Shuff.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy P. Kern (Nancy) of Ft. Myers, FL, Thomas J. Kern (Bonnie) of Halifax, Jonathan P. Kern (Kimberly) of Mechanicsburg and Julie A. Biser (David) of Harrisburg; his siblings, Herbert Kern of New Cumberland, Ethel "Betsy" Steele (Ronald) of Mechanicsburg, Marie "Wege" Fortin (Jack) of Camp Hill and Charles Kern of Mechanicsburg; and his sister-in-law Betty "Tootie" Kern. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grace United Methodist Church (309 Herman Ave, Lemoyne, PA 17043). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Rolling Green Cemetery (1811 Carlisle Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011).
