He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Lee Reid, Sr. and Frances Philetus Shannon Reid; his stepmother Alma Reid; his former wife Fern Ella Wing Reid; his granddaughter Crystal Rose Reid; and his great grandchildren, Levi Thomas Grubbs and Hayden Joseph Mullins.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Peacock Reid; his children, Claudia Rose Reid Chandler (late Lee Chandler), Thomas Arthur Reid (Ruth), Carol Ann Reid, Peggy Lynn Ottomano (Daniel), Debra Lee Drobisch (Carl), Joan Elizabeth DeLapp (Michael) and Linda Susan Nye (Steve); and his stepchildren, Sally Love Simpson (Steven Lee), Catherine Marie Thompson (David), Leo Nelson Nims, III (Mary), Laura Annan (Buddy) of Virginia, Robert Moody Nims (Leslie) and Barbara Eileen Hudson (John).
