He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan R. Mechtly and May Green Mechtly; his wife Evelyn Stambaugh; and his brother Dr. Eugene A. Mechtly. He is survived by: his children, Diane Himmel (Mark) of Cedar Creek, TX, David Mechtly (Maggie), Bruce Mechtly (Ann Stewart) and Bryan Mechtly (MaryAnn Mullen) of Red Hook, NY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Nicarry Meeting House of the Brethren Home (2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nicarry Meetinghouse of the Brethren Home (2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350).
