He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan R. Mechtly and May Green Mechtly; his wife Evelyn Stambaugh; and his brother Dr. Eugene A. Mechtly. He is survived by: his children, Diane Himmel (Mark) of Cedar Creek, TX, David Mechtly (Maggie), Bruce Mechtly (Ann Stewart) and Bryan Mechtly (MaryAnn Mullen) of Red Hook, NY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
