He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Francis and Patricia Sweeney (Manion). He is survived by: his spouse Andrea Sweeney (Thornton); his child Allison Sweeney; his siblings, Wendy Wheeling (Richard) of Milford, CT, Donna Stawski (David) of Port Jervis, NY, Karen DeGroat (Scott) of Clarks Summit, PA and Keith Sweeney (Julie) of Unionville, NY.; his nieces and nephews, Lauren VanNess (Jason Perry), Amanda (Christopher Stawski), Josh DeGroat (Heidi Peters), Makayla (Brandon Cranfield), Ian and Aaron (Noah Sweeney); his fathers-in-law, Richard W. (Betty Jean Thornton) and NJ; his brother-in-law Richard J. Thornton (Cynthia) of Portsmouth, RI; and his nephews, Brendan and Jameson Thornton.
Due to the pandemic restrictions, his funeral service and interment will be privately held.
