She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Ahrens and Mildred York Ahrens; and her aunt Jean Slaven. She is survived by: her husband Dennis "Boomer" Bechtel; her children, Ahren Bechtel of Oil City and Leslie Rugh (James) of Biloxi, MS.; her sisters-in-law, Linda Felmlee and Marlene Lockhart; Shirley Bimber.
