He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Pertz and Helen Thrasher Pertz; his wife Rebecca "Becky" Hart; his son Donald R. Pertz; his grandson Aaron Pertz; and his siblings, Betty Champion and Bill "Sonny" Pertz.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Pertz (Darole) of Venus, Jayce Pertz (Karen) of Titusville and Mark Pertz (Denise Koch) of Lowellville, OH; his foster daughter Tammy Klescz (Francis) of Seneca; his grandchildren, Jayla Pertz of Cheat Lake, WV, DeAnn Salvo (Scott) of Titusville, Scott Pertz of Oil City, Danielle Copley (Rick) of Waterford, Leigha Pertz of Pittsburgh, Janel Hanna (Jason) of Cranberry, Amy Folwell of Seneca and Matt Folwell of Las Vegas, NV; his great grandchildren, Mason, Landon, Bria, Kyle, Katie, Serafina, Maria and Madison; his great great grandchild Crew; and his sister Judy Walters of Binghamton, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
