He was predeceased by: his wife Evangelist Judith Sexton-Walls. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Alonzo Sexton (Shenara) of Atlanta, GA, Robert Sexton of Columbia, SC, Richard Sexton (Heather) of Bowie, MD and Stephonia Long of Philadelphia, PA; his grandsons, Richard, Alonzo and Austin; his siblings, Bruce Jones and Sherri Evans; his stepmother Kathryn Jones; and his cousin Elaine Walls. He is also survived by numerous other cousins and friends.
