He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Ross Clemonts; his parents, Tom Clemonts and Ellen Farley Clemonts; his children, Jeannette Clemonts and Willie Clemonts, Jr.; and his siblings, Leddie Hanncok, Lue Ellen Sheets, Dorothy Howard, Victoria Howard, Eris Mae Stewart, Alvin Clemonts and Hodges Clemonts.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Brandon Clemonts and Michael Roble; his great grandchild Bella Clemonts; and his niece Brenda Thomas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
