He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Washburn and Elizabeth J. Williams (Force); and his stepfather John Williams. He is survived by: his wife Thelma J. Washburn (Gellock); his pets, Angie and Ashley; his son Donn B. Washburn, Jr. (Stephanie) of Webster, NY; his grandchildren, Jessica and Justin; and his stepmother Joyce Washburn of Easton.
