It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John T. Schlert of Palmer Township, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 23, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Schlert and Ann Altenbach (Pasch); his stepfather Fred "Fritz" Altenbach; his daughter Kathy Ann Schlert; and his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Breiner.

He is survived by: his wife Julia E. Schlert (Bankosh); his daughters, Mary E. Nicoletta (Jerry) of Lexington, SC, Eileen Fornaciari (Tony) of Broadway, NJ and Jackie Smith (Scott) of Bethlehem Township, PA; his brother Alfred Schlert of Palmer Township, PA; his grandchildren, Matthew Nicoletta (Juana), Ryan Celia (Karen), Mandy Nicoletta, Aaron Celia, Brianna Zarenkiewicz (Dan), Jack Celia, Jr., Scott Smith, Jr. (Nicole) and Steven Smith (Amy); and his great grandchildren, Natalie, Andrew, Caden, Lindsey, Jaxon, Jocelyn, Averie, Zachary, Violet and Carter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diocese of Allentown, 1515 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Allentown, PA 18102.
